Several months ago, I noted that the reason why you see so much of R-Truth on WWE TV is that Vince McMahon likes him. For years, McMahon has praised Truth’s work and as a guy who never complains and someone who will do anything that is asked of him. For that reason, some people in the company believe he will have a job for life even after his in-ring days are over.
“Vince loves Ron,” a company source told me last June. “Everyone loves Ron but Vince really loves the guy because he is up for everything. Sometimes Vince can tell when someone is not into what they are doing because it’s silly or whatever. You never see that with Ron and Vince loves that. I think Ron will have a job for life here if he wants it.”
Now it looks like Brock Lesnar has taken a liking to Truth like McMahon has and, according to what Truth told Uproxx With Spandex earlier today, Lesnar has been pitching some ideas for the future. This comes on the heels of their hilarious segment together from the January 13th edition of Monday Night Raw where Lesnar had a hard time keeping himself from laughing at Truth’s antics.
“Brock actually has been pitching ideas,” Truth said. “He wants to work with me doing something because of that segment. He pitched a couple ideas. He and I talked afterwards. The sky’s the limit. This business is always changing, and I’m always changing with things.”
So, it looks like we haven’t seen the last of Truth and Lesnar on WWE television. A match between them seems unlikely but given that Lesnar and McMahon are big fans of Truth, anything is possible.
