It looks like Brock Lesnar’s status is confirmed for SummerSlam. Earlier, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that it was not confirmed but it was assumed that Brock Lesnar would be wrestling at SummerSlam.
Something apparently changed during the last few hours because Bryan Alvarez sent out the following tweet, basically confirming that Lesnar will be defending the Universal Championship in Brooklyn next month:
Brock is defending the title at SummerSlam.

At this point, it is still not clear who he will face on the show. Bobby Lashley vs. Roman Reigns is scheduled for Sunday at Extreme Rules but they have never stated that the match would be to determine the number 1 contender. The original plan was for a 6-Pack challenge match to determine Lesnar’s next challenger but that was scrapped in favor of the Lashley vs. Reigns match. I guess we will find out more by Sunday night or Monday on Raw when the hype for SummerSlam begins.
Earlier, we wrote about Vince McMahon’s strategy to get people to hate Lesnar and hopefully, start cheering Reigns. Click here to read more on that.
Lesnar is also booked for the Raw after SummerSlam in Brooklyn.
