Despite a heated on-screen rivalry that saw them clash for the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this month, Bron Breakker has high praise for CM Punk’s abilities on the microphone. Since making his WWE debut in the mid-2000s, Punk has brought his A-game every time he has held a microphone in a WWE ring, with his infamous Pipebomb promo going down in wrestling history as one of the most iconic moments of all time.
Speaking to ComingSoon.net, Bron Breakker opened up about the opportunity to work with Punk and his own recent growth as a performer. Breakker noted that the current creative direction has allowed him to showcase his true personality in a way he hadn’t been able to before.
“This is the first opportunity that I’ve had to really show that I can do that at a high level,” Breakker said. “Prior to this point, I don’t know that the situation has been, as me being able to be my authentic self out there and saying things in the way that I would do them and just get to be me, and that is what you’re seeing. Obviously it’s a better product. It’s better presentations all around. Just it’s better because it’s me and nobody knows how to be me more than me.”
Praise For The Best In The World
Breakker went on to compliment his recent rival, cementing Punk’s status as a legend on the mic. While Breakker acknowledged his own relative lack of experience in front of live main roster crowds compared to a veteran like Punk, he expressed confidence in his ability to hang with the best.
“So I’ve always been capable of doing that,” Breakker continued. “I’ve always been capable of hanging in there and cutting promos at whatever level that we have, and obviously Punk, in my opinion, is the greatest promo in the history of the game. I don’t think anyone’s better than him. I think me having the lack of promo experience and doing it at the level that I’ve been doing it the past month or so to count on maybe doing them in the arena, in front of a live audience on the main roster, I can count on probably one hand.”
The Vision’s Dominance
Breakker also touched on the success of his stable, The Vision, which includes Paul Heyman, Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, and Austin Theory. Breakker emphasized that the group’s recent performance proves they are the future of the company.
“The fact that we- and I say we as The Vision are able to go out and do it in the recent month, really at the level that we’ve been able to do, it shows that everyone wants to call us the future,” Breakker said. “It’s great to put on a poster or a tag or whatever you want to call it. I think what we’ve been doing recently proves that there’s just nobody else that’s even close.”
Breakker recently returned from suspension and has been entered into the Royal Rumble match along with the rest of The Vision, looking to earn another shot at the gold after falling short against Punk on the January 5 episode of Raw.
