Following his injury on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw in Atlanta, Georgia, Bronson Reed was immediately sent to Birmingham, Alabama, to undergo surgery for a torn biceps. As noted by PWInsider, because the show took place in Atlanta, the location worked to Reed’s advantage. Birmingham is a short drive from Georgia, allowing Reed to be quickly transported to the medical hub frequently used by WWE for major orthopedic procedures. He is expected to undergo surgery shortly, if the procedure has not already taken place.
There is currently no official timetable for his return to the ring. Because a torn biceps requires a lengthy recovery, WWE is forced to reconfigure their creative plans. Reed was originally scheduled to compete in the upcoming Elimination Chamber match and was likely factored into the company’s plans for WrestleMania.
Reed’s sudden absence leaves a massive void in “The Vision.” The faction, guided by Paul Heyman, is now down to just Logan Paul and Austin Theory as the only active members on television. The hope is that Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins will be back in time for WrestleMania.
The injury to Reed happened late during his match with Jey Uso and El Grande Americano when Reed attempted to break up a cover. He subsequently rolled to the ringside floor, where he was checked on by the referee. The match continued without him, and Jey Uso ultimately secured the victory to advance to the Elimination Chamber by hitting a spear and a frog splash on Americano.
The Vision had been building Reed up in a dominant role for months. Jey Uso is now in Reed’s spot in the Chamber this weekend. During Raw, Michael Cole said that Reed’s injury will keep him out of action indefinitely.
