Brooke Hogan, the daughter of Hulk Hogan, recently asked an interesting question during an interview with The Lockup Podcast regarding there not being a union in wrestling. The interviewer brought up how there’s a reason and it’s because of one man - Hulk Hogan. However, Brooke said she really didn’t want to get into it.

“It’s funny because I was talking to Brittney Page, Diamond Dallas Page’s daughter, and we were like, ‘why isn’t there a wrestling union.’ I gave it a Google and I really don’t want to dive into that.”

The interviewer said there’s one reason and Hogan responded, “there’s a reason.” The interviewer added “and his name is” and Hogan stated, “I don’t know. I have no idea who you’re talking about.”

Former WWE star Jesse Ventura previously tried to start a union in the wrestling business and detailed why wrestlers shouldn't be classified as independent contractors when they sign a contract with a promotion that prevents them from working elsewhere.

Two weeks before WrestleMania 2, Ventura gave a speech to the WWE locker room regarding a union and how they can come together to get it done. He claims Vince McMahon threatened to fire him after learning about Ventura trying to start a union and warned him not to do it again. He left WWE after the event to film the Predator movie, which made him a member of the Screen Actors Guild so he got his benefits from a union and told McMahon he wouldn’t bring up a union again.

Ventura later sued McMahon and when the WWE owner was deposed in court, he revealed that it was Hulk Hogan who went to McMahon to warn him that Ventura was trying to start a wrestling union.
