WWE Hall Of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley recently brought up his Bully Ray character and how close he was to bring it to WWE television during his latest stint with the company.
Dudley made a smart decision during the latter part of his run in TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling) as he created the Bully Ray character which led to him being a top star in the company and having a World Title run. Once he and his longtime tag team partner, D-Von, returned to the WWE, fans enjoyed their run, but we’re hoping to see his popular gimmick on the big stage in the company.
Although WWE fans never got to see this version of him, he recently revealed that the opportunity to make it happen did come close. In a post on his Twitter account, he stated that he was just 48 hours away from doing it on television whether that would’ve been on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown. If he were given the green light to do so, then it would have seen him stick around WWE as the character.
That wasn’t meant to be and thinks that it’s WWE’s loss as he is doing it now in Ring of Honor. He wrote the following:
“As I’ve stated in the past, we came close…real close…48hrs away close. It was suppose to happen on the night we said goodbye on Raw. Oh well…their loss. And I am having a blast destroying young boys @ringofhonor. Check out #FinalBattle this Fri. on PPV or #HonorClub.”
