Carlito has named Shawn Michaels as the best wrestler he has ever shared a ring with, telling Insight with Chris Van Vliet that Michaels was easy to work with and praised him for it, but that the two never had a personal relationship and that Michaels told him to his face he was “too loud.”
The reveal came when Carlito was asked to name the best in-ring opponent of his career. Michaels and Carlito worked multiple matches together during Carlito’s original WWE run in the mid-2000s, with the most notable being on Raw. The two wrestled in a multi-man match at Backlash 2006.
“It’s probably Shawn Michaels. He is what they say.”
Asked whether Michaels was easy to work with, Carlito confirmed it. “Yeah, it was. He praised me too. He said that I was working with me like a night off, so that way I took that as a compliment.”
“Personally, he didn’t like me. I was too loud or something. I forgot, he told me to my face, though, so I respect that.”
