Carmella Clarifies WWE Departure Comments: ‘Grateful,’ But ‘Hurt With How It Ended’

Former WWE Superstar Carmella recently appeared on “The Wrestling Classic” podcast, where she addressed fan reactions and misconceptions surrounding previous comments she made about her departure from WWE.

Carmella explained that a teaser clip from a prior podcast appearance was taken out of context, leading some to believe she held negative feelings towards the company overall. “A trailer for anything, whether it’s a TV show, a podcast, or a movie, is supposed to get people talking and intrigued, and that’s what the trailer did,” she stated. “When that little teaser reel dropped, people were just taking the things that were said out of context. If you actually listen to the entire podcast, you know what I was saying.”

She firmly clarified her position on WWE: “I wasn’t at all saying anything bad about WWE. I’m so grateful for my time at WWE.”

Carmella elaborated that her disappointment stemmed specifically from the manner of her exit, not the exit itself, acknowledging that her tenure would eventually end. “Eventually I’m going to leave WWE. There’s no way I can work there forever,” she said. “For me personally, I was just a little upset and hurt, I guess, with how it ended, but it was going to end no matter what. I was just a little hurt with how it ended. That’s all.”

The core issue, she revealed, was the lack of advance notice. “I feel like at the moment it was very jarring and I was shocked because I didn’t get a lot of notice. To me, that’s what kind of was like, wow…”

Addressing online critics who suggested performance was the reason for her departure, Carmella commented, “…everyone’s gonna have their opinion and that’s fine.”

Despite the initial shock surrounding the way her WWE run concluded, Carmella finished on a positive and appreciative note. “…but I’m so happy. Everything happens for a reason. I feel so blessed. I’m so grateful for my time in WWE.”
