WWE Superstar Carmella appeared on this week’s episode of The Bump on WWE Network. The ‘Princess of Staten Island’ appeared on the show to discuss topics relating to the upcoming Money In The Bank PPV.
One of the topics covered involved Carmella appearing in and winning the first ever Women’s Money In The Bank match. Carmella defeated Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, and Tamina in the 2017 debut of the Women’s match in controversial fashion due to the help of James Ellsworth.
Carmella talked about her nervousness heading into the match on The Bump. “I was nervous, I’m not gonna lie” Carmella began. “They took all of us aside, the five of us that were in the match and told us about it prior to them announcing it on TV. Because they wanted to make sure that we’re all going to be okay with it.”
‘Mella elaborated further, saying “I’m the smallest girl in the match the ladders are huge and heavy. Plus I don’t do anything like crazy moves off the top rope. Never mind off of a ladder! So I was scared, but I knew that’s what I had to do and I really wanted to make history.”
Carmella finished by saying how she knew it was important to brave the match so that she could become the first Champion of the Women’s iteration of the bout. “I knew no matter what, no matter what happens? As many Money In The Bank Women’s ladder matches that are gonna be in the future? Everyone is gonna remember the first Ms Money In The Bank.”
The match to determine the final entrant into the Money In The Bank takes place tonight on SmackDown. Carmella will be taking on Mandy Rose, with the winner heading into the match a week on Sunday.
