Cathy Kelley reveals the reason why she left WWE

Cathy Kelley was the guest on “Better Together with Maria Menounos” today. Among many topics, she discussed the reason why she decided to leave WWE. Kelley’s last day with the company was at TakeOver: Portland.

Kelley noted that she left WWE without another job lined up. She said that she has been able to develop contacts so she knows that she can lean on some friends if necessary.

She said, “I just knew that it was the right time and really feeling like I had planted a lot of seeds. There’s so many things that I want to do in my life.”

She said she knew she wanted to be on TV at a young age and she wanted to be a part of that. She said she also enjoys producing and creating content and she would love to write a book and a screenplay. She also said she wants to get into acting.

She added, “With the WWE schedule, it’s so time-consuming because you are traveling so much. Being me, I wanted to do everything so I wanted to work as much as possible which also meant being away from Los Angeles, which I just moved to. That wouldn’t have allowed me to continue to do the other things, or work on the other things that I wanted to do.”

Towards the end of her time in WWE, she said she would work on Tuesdays and she would get home on Saturday and the traveling was exhausting. She said her brain was overloaded because of the weird sleep schedule.

She acknowledged that the wrestler’s schedule is more grueling but her schedule was taxing on her and it didn’t allow her to work on non-WWE projects.

She continued, “I hadn’t taken a proper day or weekend off or show off since I had been there. If I did it was to work on another project. That gets really hard.”
