Cedric Alexander recently spoke with the Charlotte Observer to promote Monday’s episode of RAW in Charlotte, NC at the Spectrum Center. During the interview, Alexander was asked about losing weight to be in the Cruiserweight Classic. He had to lose 22 pounds to make the 205 limit for the Cruiserweight Classic. He said that he thought he was in shape at 230 and that he does better in this weight class as he is lighter on his feet and his body feels better. “I don’t think anyone expected the show to take off like it did,” he said.

Alexander lost to Kota Ibushi in the second round of the tournament, and after the match, the fans were chanting for WWE to sign Alexander. Triple H walked out and shook his hand. “That really threw me off,” says Alexander. He added that he always wanted to wrestle Ibushi and was full of emotion after the match for doing so.
