Cedric Alexander Released By WWE

Cedric Alexander has announced that he is no longer with WWE as he has been released by WWE.

Alexander’s non-compete will be up in 90 days. He had reportedly signed a new deal last September.

He wrote in a tweet, “Thank you for the last 8 1/2 years! Being a professional wrestler has been a dream of mine since I could form memories and I will continue to do so till the good Lord says otherwise. #SeeYouIn90.”

It’s unclear why he was released. He had been with WWE for nearly a decade. He worked the Cruiserweight Classic, then moved to the 205 Live brand. He was later moved to Raw.

In late 2019, it was reported that Paul Heyman was high on Alexander while he was the Raw Executive Director, and he received a brief push. Alexander feuded with AJ Styles over the United States Title during the push.

In 2020, Alexander was put with Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin as part of The Hurt Business, a beloved fan-favorite faction that was broken up. Alexander became a Tag Team Champion during that run. After that run, WWE didn’t do much with Alexander besides working on house shows and Main Event matches, in addition to a run in NXT in 2024.

Perhaps fans will see a full Hurt Business reunion in AEW now that Alexander is gone from WWE.
