As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Chicago, IL at the Allstate Arena on the USA Network, Angle beat Gable in a singles match.
Following the contest, WWE’s YouTube channel released this video of Gable talking about the match.
“Life is funny, ya know. He was a hero of mine growing up. I didn’t place him on that pedestal tonight that I did when I was kid because if I did, it would’ve been over like that.”
This led to Gable being asked if he was fearful that he would never have the opportunity to wrestle the WWE Hall of Famer due to him retiring from wrestling at WrestleMania 35.
“I had hope. I knew he was on his farewell and knew there was still time left. Whether that’s at WrestleMania as his final opponent or whether that’s on this farewell tour it doesn’t matter to me. I wanna wrestle him before he’s done. I wanna have that honor to be able to say I wrestled the best of all time.”
