This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with an in-ring promo by Randy Orton.
Orton made it clear that he wants to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Orton vs. McIntrye is the match that has been speculated on for weeks.
The original plan for Orton was for him to take on Edge but those plans changed when Edge suffered an injury at Backlash.
Immediately after Orton’s segment, Nia Jax walked out to the ring to declare that she wants a shot at Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. Jax was interrupted by Shayna Baszler and this led to a brawl with referees running into the ring. Baszler vs. Asuka is another match that has been rumored. The original plan was Charlotte Flair challenging Asuka for the title.
