There was more chaos behind-the-scenes at SmackDown.
Up until showtime, there were no matches announced on the preview page on the WWE website.
Dave Meltzer reported today that no matches were advertised because they were rewriting the show last night. Meltzer added that they did have a show written earlier today but it was not clear why they didn’t announce matches.
Meltzer added that the Otis trial segment is what sent everything into chaos. That segment became the top concern and everything got delayed because of it.
Meltzer also said that nobody backstage could understand why so much time was devoted to tonight’s show because it was moved to FS1 and they are expected to get a much smaller audience like they did last year when they were bumped off FOX for the World Series.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque was brought in to help out with tonight’s show like he did last week.
Another change that was made today was in regards to the post-show. Originally, the plan was to air Talking Smack after SmackDown. Then they changed it to a special episode of WWE Backstage and then it was changed back to Talking Smack with Kayla Braxton, Booker T and Montez Ford as the hosts.
