Charlotte Flair Calls WWE SummerSlam Win A ‘Top Three Moment’ In Her Career

Last night at SummerSlam Night One, the unlikely duo of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. In a post-show interview, a visibly emotional Charlotte Flair described the victory as one of the top three moments of her entire career.

A Top Three Career Moment

Speaking on the SummerSlam post-show, the new champion explained how unexpected and meaningful the victory was for her, especially after feeling “directionless” following her loss at WrestleMania 41.

“Honestly, the 10 years I’ve been here, tonight felt like a top three moment, I’m not just saying that,” Flair said. “I didn’t expect this or want this, and I didn’t even think I was gonna be at SummerSlam after WrestleMania, so I was very much directionless.”

Finding A New Direction

Flair credited her partner, Alexa Bliss, for helping her find a new path. She recounted how the “little five feet of fury” encouraged her to team up, leading them to a championship moment at the biggest party of the summer.

“So after ‘Mania, I was like, damn, I came back, I gave it all, and I don’t know what’s next, and then here’s like this little five feet of fury who is like, hey, what’s going on with you, come hang out with me,” Flair recalled. “And here we are at SummerSlam, and it’s just like, damn, even after 10 years, and everything I’ve done, this felt really frickin’ cool.”

The victory for Flair and Bliss was one of two women’s championship matches on Night One of the premium live event. In the other title bout, Jade Cargill defeated Tiffany Stratton to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.
