Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch’s current feud is arguably the hottest storyline in WWE right now. Things broke down between the former best friends at SummerSlam this past August. Initially, Lynch earned herself a one-on-one opportunity with then-SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Carmella.
However, Flair made her return to WWE TV off recovery from surgery and was inserted into the match. The Title bout was then made a Triple Threat match. Flair emerged victorious and as the new SDL Women’s Champion. After the match, however, Lynch became fed up with “The Queen” squandering her opportunities, and proceeded to attack Flair.
At Hell In A Cell, Flair defended the title against Lynch in a Singles bout. Lynch was able to best Flair, and win the SmackDown Live Women’s Title for the second time in her career. After the match, Flair reached her hand out for a shake, which Lynch declined. Now, they’ll go at it one more time with the SDL Women’s Title on the line at WWE’s Super Show-Down tomorrow.
Flair spoke to TalkSport recently to promote the event. She was asked about the amazing reaction the storyline has received from the WWE Universe. Here’s what Flair had to say:
“If they didn’t react we’d have a major problem! Whether it was cheers or boos, the most important thing was that people cared. At the end of the day that’s all the matters. In my opinion she wasn’t justified. I was granted the match, so for her to turn on me I felt that all those moments I shared with my best friend in and outside the ring for her to throw away over one match was hard.
“For me it should just keep getting better and better and I think that’s what you’re going to see with Becky and I. SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell we were just scrapping the surface, we’ve get deeper into the storyline and deeper into our roles and it should now just get easier to know where we are going and keep getting better.”
