Last week, CM Punk poked fun at WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon in a response to a post shared by Charlotte Flair.
On last Monday’s episode of Raw, Flair was on commentary for the singles match between Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley and Asuka.
Flair posted a photo of herself on Twitter and asked fans to caption it. Punk saw the tweet and wrote, “GODDAMNIT PAL WATCH THE MONITORS AND STOP SAYING WRESTLING PAL.”
“No one is buzzing me in my ear,” Charlotte said in a response to the tweet in an interview with Hindustan Times. “I have known Byron Saxton and Corey Graves for a very long time. It was just great to be out there with them, feeling as confident as ever. No, Vince doesn’t buzz me in my ear about anything.”
Of course, various announcers have said over the years that there were countless times where McMahon would tell them what to say and remind them of banned terms. That’s what Punk was referring to in the tweet.
