Chavo Guerrero Sr., the brother of Eddie Guerrero and father of Chavo Guerrero Jr., passed away at the age of 68 on Saturday. He had been battling with liver cancer since last month. Guerrero was known for his work in the UWF, AWA, and younger fans may remember his WWE run as Chavo Classic in 2004. He had a run with the Cruiserweight title during that time period.
He last appeared on WWE programming in 2011 in an “Old School” episode of Raw. We send our condolences to the Guerrero family for their loss.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. posted the following on his father’s passing:
“Today the world lost a true rebel. He did things “HIS” way. Not always right, not always wrong, but He always followed what he believed in. He was diagnosed with Liver Cancer in early January of this year. As believer in Christ Jesus, he is now in Paradise. Today is a Sad day in the Guerrero Family. Rest In Peace Chavo “Classic” Guerrero Sr. #rip#nowinheaven.”
