Chelsea Green Confirms She Suffered A Broken Ankle

Chelsea Green has confirmed that she has suffered a broken ankle. The injury update comes shortly after her most recent in-ring appearance on WWE television. Green was last seen in action on the February 6 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, where she competed in a high-stakes Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

Following that appearance, Green was scheduled for a significant championship defense the very next day. She was advertised to compete at the AAA on FOX event, teaming with current NXT North American Champion Ethan Page. The duo was set to defend their AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships against the challengers, Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana. However, the match did not go ahead as advertised due to Green’s physical condition.

Prior to the scheduled title defense, the broadcast featured a segment explaining Green’s absence to the viewing audience. A camera shot displayed Ethan Page backstage engaging in a FaceTime call with Green. During the video call, Green was visible wearing a walking boot, signaling that she was not medically cleared to compete. She confirmed during the segment that she would be unable to make the match. Following the show, Green took to social media to provide a specific update on her status, revealing the severity of the situation by stating that she had broken her ankle.

The AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship match proceeded with a substitution for the defending team. La Hiedra stepped in to replace the injured Green, teaming with Ethan Page to defend the gold against Vice and Iguana. Despite the adjustment, the makeshift team was unsuccessful in their defense. Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana defeated Page and La Hiedra to capture the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships, ending the reign of Page and Green.

It is currently unclear how long Green will be sidelined due to the broken ankle or how this will impact her standing in WWE storylines moving forward. It was reported earlier this week that she had suffered a bruised ankle and wouldn’t be sidelined for long. We wish her a speedy recovery.
