Chelsea Green: ‘I’m Healing Up Much Faster Than I Thought I Would Be’

Chelsea Green has provided a positive update regarding her recovery from a recent ankle injury that sidelined her from action. Speaking with Denise Salcedo on the red carpet at the WWE 2K26 Creator Fest on February 23, Green revealed that her healing process is moving significantly faster than she initially anticipated. While the injury was initially feared to be a major fracture, Green clarified the specific nature of the injury and expressed relief at the diagnosis.

“I’m healing up much faster than I thought I would be. I’m out of the boot, but only for the fashion. I should not be out of the boot. Um, I chipped my ankle, the side of it. So, it’s painful, but I feel like I got lucky. Like, in terms of a broken ankle, I feel like I got very very very lucky. Thank gosh,” Green said.

Green is adamant that her time away from the ring will be brief. When asked about her return timeline, she stated that she will not be out for an extended period.

The injury occurred during a qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber on the February 10 episode of SmackDown, where Green competed against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Despite sustaining the injury mid-match, she managed to finish the contest before being evaluated by medical staff in the back.

The injury forced Green to miss a scheduled title defense for the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship, which subsequently led to her and partner Ethan Page losing the belts when a replacement took her spot. Green has remained on SmackDown despite the physical setback, appearing in segments via a wheelchair to maintain her storyline presence alongside Alba Fyre. WWE fans have rallied behind her during this period, particularly following her standout performance in the second season of the WWE: Unreal docuseries on Netflix.
