Chelsea Green Thinks John Cena Helped Facilitate Matt Cardona’s WWE Return

Chelsea Green has credited John Cena with playing a pivotal role in her husband Matt Cardona’s return to WWE. During an interview on TMZ Inside The Ring, Green spoke about the close relationship she and Cardona share with Cena and his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, revealing that they often go on “double dates.”

Green believes that Cena’s assistance in getting Cardona booked for the “John Cena Last Match Tournament” was the catalyst for his full-time return.

“I really think that John, helping him get into that tournament was what made WWE see like, Oh, wow. Like, that is a superstar that we need,” Green explained. “He’s been very supportive throughout… especially after Matt left WWE… because that was always Matt’s goal.”

The couple’s friendship extends beyond wrestling advice. Green revealed that Cena’s upcoming show, Junk or Jackpot, was actually conceived during one of their dinners. “That was an idea that was born on a date night… that was a little wine night idea,” Green noted.

Green also shared her emotional reaction to Cena’s final match, admitting that despite not being an emotional person, the moment moved her. “I shed a tear… and that one tear means everything. If you know me, you know I don’t cry,” she said.
