Chris Jericho Addresses WWE Return Rumors: “I’m Not Going Anywhere For A While”

Chris Jericho has addressed the recent speculation about his future, stating that while he is not opposed to a potential return to WWE one day, he is “not going anywhere for a while” and is “still with AEW for right now.”

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Jericho was asked about the possibility of a WWE return. He gave an answer that kept his options open while also praising the current landscape of the wrestling business. “The best thing that can happen in wrestling is AEW. And the fact that there’s two huge promotions that you can choose from just makes it better for the guys, it makes it better for the fans, and everybody in between,” he said.

“So I’m not going anywhere for a while, I’m still with AEW for right now. Would I go back to WWE? I wouldn’t be opposed to it. We just have to see what happens. But the best thing that can happen is that you have two great teams that you can play for, and that just makes everything bigger and more exciting.”

The interview comes after a period of speculation about Jericho’s future. It has been reported by Dave Meltzer that his current AEW contract is set to expire at the end of this year, and that there is a belief among some in AEW that he will return to WWE. Jericho has been off of AEW television since April, a long absence that has only fueled the rumors.

As a foundational member of AEW and its first-ever World Champion, his departure would be a notable moment for the company. At the same time, a return to WWE, where he is a multi-time world champion and a guaranteed future Hall of Famer, would be a fitting way to end his career.
