Chris Jericho is a free agent

The next couple of weeks will be interesting because there are a couple of big names on the market and in very high demand. Kenny Omega appears to be headed to All Elite Wrestling but New Japan Pro Wrestling wants to keep him. The only way for them to keep him after his contract expires is for them to start a working relationship with All Elite Wrestling.

The other big name that is free to sign with anyone is Chris Jericho. He lost the IWGP Intercontinental Championship to Tetsuya Naito but then cut a promo on Hiroshi Tanahashi and said that he wants the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. The match can happen but NJPW and Jericho will need to come to terms on a new deal.

“I know Chris Jericho’s deal expired with the Tokyo Dome,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. “In the dressing room, he challenged Hiroshi Tanahashi and they do want to do that match this year. Jericho does want to say, it’s just a question of getting a new deal done.”

For those of you that have asked, Jericho has been rumored to be involved with All Elite Wrestling. He is friends with co-founder Tony Khan but he has not signed a deal with them. Perhaps, that will change if AEW and NJPW come to terms on a working relationship.

The other big story is the situation with Kenny Omega. As of now, he is done with New Japan Pro Wrestling but there are some new developments. Click here for more details on that story.
