Chris Jericho on AEW competing with WWE: This is a war even if you don’t want it to be

Chris Jericho is part of a new journey in the pro wrestling business now that he’s under contract with AEW. Jericho was recently interviewed by TV Insider to talk about his involvement with AEW.

The former IWGP Intercontinental Champion is set to take on Kenny Omega in the main event of AEW’s inaugural event, Double or Nothing, later this month.

AEW has inked a partnership with WarnerMedia for multi-platform access for fans to watch AEW events, airing live weekly matches on TNT in prime time, as well as streaming them through WarnerMedia’s B/R Live and on pay-per-view.

In the interview, the former WWE Champion said that this will be a war between both companies.

“This is a war. Even if you don’t want it to be, it just is. There hasn’t been any competition for WWE on a national basis for 20 years or more. I think this is something they didn’t really want, but it’s great for the fans and great for the guys. I think in the long run it’s going to make a difference because it gives people a choice. And it’s always good to have a choice.”
