Chris Jericho comments on some of the feuds he has been a part of throughout his professional wrestling career. Throughout his lengthy professional career going all the way back to the 90s, Jericho has feuded with some of the biggest stars in the history of the industry across WCW, WWE and AEW. Now, he has discussed some of his greatest feuds.
In a new interview with Radio X, Chris Jericho said he feels his 2008 feud with Shawn Michaels is an all-time great.
“Oh, my gosh, Jericho said. I mean, it’s 35 years, man, so there’s a lot of them. But if you’re going WWE, the Shawn Michaels-Chris Jericho feud from 2008 is one of the all-time great feuds for sure. I think Jericho-Kevin Owens from 2016 was a great one. I think Jericho-MJF from 2020 was a great one.”
The rivalry with Michaels in 2008 is often cited as one of the best of that era, evolving from a respectful competition into a bitter, personal feud that included an Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven and a Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Mercy.
“The ones that are my favorite are the long builds that take six, seven, eight months to before (it culminates) so in order to go that long, it has to be something special, magical, Jericho continued. So those ones always stand out for me off the top of my head because we had some time invested into it, and they did go the better part of- actually, the MJF storyline was literally 366 days, and so that’s what you when you have something good.”
Jericho’s work with Kevin Owens in 2016 led to the famous “Festival of Friendship” segment, while his program with MJF in AEW spanned a full year, involving the Inner Circle and The Pinnacle factions.
