Christian explains why he can’t return to the ring like Daniel Bryan

Christian Daniel Bryan

Christian recently spoke with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT where he discussed the reason for not being able to make an in-ring return.

Christian has a history of concussions. In 2014, he was forced to retire from in-ring competition. In fact, in a previous interview, Christian stated that he’s not medically cleared and on a non-contact list with WWE. Thus, the reason he wasn’t part of the Edge vs. Randy Orton feud. It’s been well documented that Bryan was also forced to retire from the ring due to concussions only to be medically cleared years later.

“No, they’re different injuries,” he said. “I just think that there’s not enough known yet about concussions and those sorts of things.

“My situation is much different than Daniel Bryan’s. He was, what, in his early 30s when this happened? I was in my 40s, so very different parts of our careers, and I feel like I’m content with what I accomplished. “I just don’t feel the need to go back and dip my toes in the water at all.”

Christian also discussed Edge’s return to in-ring action after retiring nine years due to issues with his neck, why he thinks Edge felt like he needed to return and more. You can read the interview here.
