Chyna’s mother asks police to re-examine circumstances around daughter’s death

The passing of Joanie Laurer, who went by the name of Chyna in WWE, is still a mystery. Laurer’s mom, Jan LaQue, recently told Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet that she is asking the police to take a closer look into her daughter’s death. LaQue contacted the Redondo Beach detective handling the case on Tuesday. LaQue doesn’t believe that Laurer’s manager Anthony Anzaldo was completely honest after Laurer’s death and thinks that his moves need to be looked into. LaQue pointed out that Laurer seems to have fired Anzaldo just weeks before her passing. In an email that Laurer sent to her mother, she claimed that Anzaldo stole money from her and to stop talking to him. LaQue said that she was worried that her daughter was dealing with personal demons around the time she sent the email. LaQue fears maybe that wasn’t the case and now is speaking up about it.

LaQue noted on Facebook that Anzaldo gave away Laurer’s cello and refused to give her Laurer’s personal property. LaQue claimed that Anzaldo has been confrontational each time she has tried to get answers on who received the cello and where the rest of her personal property has been placed as well as how the money that was donated to her estate is now being used.

Anzaldo issued the following statement to Pro Wrestling Sheet:

“I never stole from Chyna, and I certainly wasn’t fired. I didn’t work for her, I don’t work for anyone. We were partners. I will be releasing a statement in the near future.”

Laurer’s cause of death is still pending further investigation. The detective that is handling the case is waiting for the official toxicology report to come out before they can make any more decisions on the investigation.
