Clearwater Police Say Investigation Into Hulk Hogan’s Death Remains Active

Police in Clearwater, Florida, have confirmed that their investigation into the death of professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan remains active, nearly a month after the medical examiner concluded he died of a heart attack. In a statement released Thursday, the Clearwater Police Department described the case as “unique” and said that detectives are continuing their work.

“The unique nature of this case has required us to interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers, and our detectives continue to do that,” the police department said in its statement. The ongoing probe continues despite the medical examiner’s report, which concluded that the cause of death was natural. The report noted that Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, had a history of leukemia and atrial fibrillation.

Hogan passed away on July 24 at the age of 71 at a local hospital. His death occurred after paramedics and police were dispatched to his beachfront home in Clearwater following a 911 call. Police have previously stated that there was no evidence of foul play in his death, and it is unclear what specific aspect of the case is being investigated beyond the collection of medical records.

Due to the active nature of the investigation, official records related to the incident have not been made public. “All of this takes time,” the police statement said. “Until the investigation is completed, no records related to the case, including body camera footage, can be released.”

The Clearwater Police Department also confirmed that they have been working with the Hogan family throughout the process. The statement mentioned that investigators have been in contact with his son, Nick, and his daughter, Brooke Hogan.
