Ever since he left the WWE in 2014, CM Punk has received questions from fans regarding a possible WWE return. It’s well known that Punk had issues with the company regarding the way he was booked and treated by management. Another reason that he left the company was due to his dream of being a pro-MMA fighter. His dream came true this past September at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall, although the fight did not pan out the way he wanted it to go and he lost by first round submission. Since then, there have been talks between he and the UFC about his second pro-MMA bout taking place under the UFC banner.
A fan asked Punk on Twitter if he would be ruining John Cena's return to WWE TV on the December 27th episode of SmackDown Live in Chicago, IL, which is his hometown. He posted the following response in a joking manner:
While Punk did leave the company on very bad terms, it's always a possibility that he returns to WWE in the future but I don't see that happening while the lawsuit from WWE Dr. Chris Amann is active.
Hopefully, that puts rumors to rest for those of you that email us about Punk and WWE.
