Chris Jericho is taking a lot of heat on social media for his tweet about the Presidential Election where he claimed to not be a political person, despite the fact that he donated to Donald Trump and he had Trump’s son on his podcast a few months ago.
The tweet has been widely criticized because it implies that something nefarious is happening with the election process. Jericho’s tweet ignores that there have been delays in previous elections, most notably the 2000 Bush/Gore election.

Jericho has been corrected by several of his peers, fans and some people in the media and has yet to delete his tweet. Here is his original tweet and some of the notable replies.
No. It’s always been that way. Winners on election night are always “projected winners.” And it’s based on clear cut evidence of a winner. This is a tight race, much like 2000. Only 20 years ago, we waited many WEEKS before a winner was declared. Not the 1st time

The 2000 election took a month to finally be decided. Not exactly the first time ever. I cut promos about this in WCW. 🤦♂️ https://t.co/ZclLP6jjG8

To my knowledge this is the second time but to answer your question; no its not strange to me. Actually I'm pretty thankful to the citizens that are counting these votes especially during a pandemic. I pray they are safe & have all the help to ensure a speedy yet truthful count. https://t.co/6OEZv0Ww0o
