CM Punk on his next MMA fight: “If it doesn’t happen in the UFC, it will happen somewhere else”

Even though he lost his first pro-MMA fight back in September at UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio against Mickey Gall via first round submission, there is still interest in Punk from both the UFC and other MMA promotions. The last that we heard from UFC President Dana White about Punk’s future was that he isn’t sure what Punk’s future holds in the promotion but that they would talk and Punk noted before UFC 203 that he signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC so obviously, he is still under contract with them.

Punk recently spoke with FOX Sports about his future in MMA. He said that he has been working on getting another fight lined up feverishly and that he has been throwing possible opponents and dates for his next fight at the UFC. He doesn’t know if White is waiting to book his next fight for an event in Chicago or what the deal is. “If it doesn’t happen in the UFC, it will happen somewhere else. I’m dedicated to fighting and training. We’ll get there.”

He added that his first fight is out of the way and that life couldn’t be better.
