CM Punk on Kofi Kingston’s WWE Title win: “It should’ve happened ten years ago”

CM Punk appeared on Stadium’s Sauce & Shram show where he actually talked about WWE. The former WWE Champion paid some attention to WrestleMania 35 despite there being no love lost between the two sides.

The reason for that is due to his longtime good friend Kofi Kingston having a moment at WrestleMania, which is considered the biggest event of the year for WWE.

Kingston won the WWE Title from Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 this past Sunday night. As a result, this marked Kofi’s first major world title win in the company.

“It should’ve happened ten years ago. That’s what I’ll leave with. It’s one of those things where yes, I’m stoked that it happened now but be ahead of the curve instead of behind it.”

Once he signed with the WWE, Punk career took off as he would later hold several championships including the WWE Title. However, after dealing with injuries and lacking the desire to wrestle anymore, Punk decided to walk out of the company following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in 2014.
