CM Punk and Mickey Gall took part in a media conference call on Thursday to promote their fight at UFC 203.
There’s been a lot of speculation about Punk’s future in the UFC. Many think that this will be a one and done deal for the former WWE Champion. However, Punk expects to fight many more times after UFC 203. “I have a good amount of fights on my contract, and I plan on fulfilling it and having fun doing it.”
When asked if he would be walking out to Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality” for the fight, Punk responded by saying that fans will have to order UFC 203 to find out.
When asked how he sees the fight ending, Punk believes he will definitely win. “I see my hand getting raised. I’m not really one for making predictions. I definitely see myself winning, and if I had to pick I would say by TKO.”
Punk’s pro wrestling background was brought up and was asked if his wrestling injuries hurt less now with him walking away and transitioning into MMA. Punk noted that he feels amazing and that he no longer has to travel, but rather he can sleep in his own bed and doesn’t have to deal with someone’s bulls*it. “I’m in the zone right now, everything is much better.”
Former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE star Brock Lesnar was brought up. Punk said that he has spoken with Lesnar and that Lensar offered advice and let him pick his brain.
