CM Punk is far removed from his wrestling days but that doesn't mean that he doesn't appreciate his fans. There seems to be this myth perpetuated by some WWE fans claiming that Punk doesn't care about his fanbase but that is far from the truth.
There were CM Punk chants at WrestleMania and on Raw this week, which is amazing considering that he left WWE 4 years ago. That apparently irked former Tough Enough contestant/independent wrestler A.J. Kirsch.
Kirsch tagged Punk on Twitter and wrote, "I wonder how much those fans spent to throw beach balls and chant @CMPunk's name. I mean...tickets to the show, flights, hotels, food, and probably drinks and maybe merch. That's a lot of money to spend just to show everyone you're an asshole."
Punk saw the tweet and fired back, "Or you could just let everyone know you're an asshole for free by telling them what to do with their own money."
For whatever it's worth, there were no reports of beach balls during the live broadcast. The crowd was more respectful this year than previous Raw After Mania crowds. In fact, as you can see in the video below, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor praised the fans after Raw went off the air and they encouraged fans to toss beachballs around after the show.
