CM Punk recently spoke with Ron Kruck of Inside MMA to promote his fight with Mickey Gall at UFC 203 on September 10th. The interview will air in its entirety this Friday night on AXS TV at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT. AXS TV released a clip of the interview and in the clip, Punk was asked if he has received any support from Vince McMahon.
“No, he’s currently bankrolling a lawsuit against me, so I don’t think he’s going to be reaching out.” Punk then did an impression of McMahon, “Hey pal, how are you doing? I’m suing ya, LOL.”
WWE is not suing Punk but their physician Dr. Chris Amman is. He is likely talking about Amann, and he apparently believes that McMahon is helping with Amann with his legal costs. Amman’s lawsuit against Punk and Colt Cabana will go to trial on May 21st, 2018. Amman filed the lawsuit after Punk ripped on him while Cabana’s podcast in late 2014 for the way WWE handled his injuries while he was still under contract with the company.
