Update: Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that there has been no discussion within WWE of CM Punk coming back to the company. Punk is recovering from surgery and expected to make his UFC debut this summer.
Original: John Cena, who posts random photos on his Instagram account, got fans talking about a recent photo. The photo, which you can see below, is of Paul Newman in the movie Slapshot. It’s a similar photo to former WWE, and now UFC star CM Punk’s profile photo on his Twitter account. Cena posted a photo of AJ Styles a few weeks before Styles made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble. Saturday’s post from Cena is making fans speculate that Punk is returning to WWE.

The bio on Cena’s Instagram account makes it clear that he posts random photos for fans to interpret the meaning behind them. “Welcome to my Instagram. These images will be posted without explanation, for your interpretation. Enjoy.”
Punk is currently under contract with the UFC and is scheduled to fight Mickey Gall in June or July. He and Colt Cabana are currently in legal battle with WWE Doctor Chris Amann as well. It would be highly unlikely that Punk returns to WWE anytime soon but you never say never in wrestling.
