On the latest episode of his podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Cody Rhodes shared a humorous and bizarre story from his time traveling with Bryan Danielson, revealing his former tag team partner’s unusual choice of conversation topics for long road trips.
During a wide-ranging conversation with his guest, Nikki Bella, Rhodes began recounting some of his memories of being on the road with Danielson, who is Nikki’s brother-in-law. Rhodes described his surprise at the strange topics Danielson would bring up for deep, serious discussions.
A “Scientific” Conversation
“I spent a lot of time on the road with Brian, a lot of time,” Rhodes began. “And one of the things that really, really shocked me… is he would always pick the strangest things to have a deep conversation about. And one of them was… he started talking about the average male penis size, and wanted to have a full round table about it.”
Rhodes explained his stunned reaction, especially given that his now-wife, Brandi, was also in the car at the time. “And I remember I was just like… what? And it was nothing. It was like a scientific conversation, totally he wanted to have,” Rhodes clarified. “But I thought, ‘Where was it? Was it your need to like, hey, we’re on the road, we’re going to talk? Was it genuinely something you read this morning, and you wanted to bring up?’ But it was just like, jarring.”
Nikki Bella Confirms
Nikki Bella, who is married to Danielson’s wife’s twin sister, laughed and confirmed that this type of humor is characteristic of her brother-in-law. “He loves boner jokes, dick jokes, like, all the things,” she said. “The fact that TV [shows] will show penis now, he thinks it’s hilarious. That’s great.”
Cody Rhodes and Bryan Danielson have a long history together in WWE, where they once held the WWE Tag Team Championship as part of Team Rhodes Scholars. Danielson, who is married to Nikki’s sister Brie Bella, is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling.
