Cody Rhodes has confirmed a long-standing rumor from WWE Elimination Chamber, stating that music superstar Travis Scott did, in fact, bust his eardrum with a slap during the chaotic main event.
“He Has A Big Old Hand”
Scott was in the ring with The Rock and John Cena when Cena turned heel by attacking Rhodes leading to a brutal beat down. Travis slapped Rhodes and it was reported that Rhodes busted his eardrum as a result. On the latest episode of Hot Ones, Rhodes was asked if the celebrity’s slap was as stiff as it looked on television.
An Open Invitation
Rhodes explained that he didn’t retaliate at the moment out of respect for Scott gracing WWE with his presence. He then extended an open invitation for the rapper to return to a WWE ring.
“I wish I could tell you it wasn’t true. Because I wanted anyone else to have the credit for that. So, you’ve got Rock in the ring. You’ve got Cena in the ring. But my man Travis, who, nothing but love for, he has a big old hand. So yes, it did bust my eardrum. If anyone ever wonders why I didn’t slap him, first hit him with a Cross Rhodes, he’s gracing us with his presence. Wrestling right now, again we’re getting all these fun folks but years ago it wasn’t that easy. And now here he comes. I want you to come back man. Our house is your house. You know, maybe swing less but our house is your house. So yeah, no, Travis did do that, that’s a fact.”
