Cody Rhodes has acknowledged Danhausen as the current king of WWE merchandise, telling ESPN Unsportsmanlike that Danhausen has overtaken the WWE merch game and is currently beating every other wrestler in the company.
Rhodes was asked about Danhausen, with the WWE Champion offering a candid read on the character’s continuing main roster momentum.
“Big D. I don’t know what. Do we think of Danhausen? I don’t know if I’m, I don’t know where I stand on him yet. Oh boy, I don’t know where I stand. He does. He’s part of the crew that does eight by 10s early in the day. We do a stack of them. There’s a small crew that do these and they sell them up at the stands, and now he has a stack and it sits next to my stack. And so we’ve had a couple moments in next to each other. Don’t have the best read on, very nice, very evil, very rich. Don’t know enough about, but I think it’s safe to say Danhausen is one of the most popular people in all of WWE at the moment, and I don’t see it really stopping. He overtook the merch game. There’s all kinds of market confusion because the WWE shop website has a thing that people actually believe, but I’ll tell you who’s the king right now of the merch game. It’s Danhausen. He’s beating us all.”
PWInsider previously reported that Danhausen has become the No. 2 merchandise seller in all of WWE, with three of his current shirt designs in the top 5 of WWE’s best sellers.
