Cody Rhodes Reveals Who The New WWE Locker Room Leader Is

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has bestowed a huge honor upon one of his colleagues, calling 14-time World Champion Randy Orton the “modern-day Undertaker” of the WWE locker room.

Cody Rhodes Compares Randy Orton To The Undertaker

Speaking to his SummerSlam opponent Jelly Roll on the “What Do You Wanna Talk About” podcast, Rhodes explained that Orton has transitioned into the role of the ultimate respected veteran and locker room leader, a position famously held for decades by The Undertaker.

“I like the idea that you’re talking about Randy Orton who is currently, I don’t think Undertaker would dislike this, but he really has become the Undertaker of this locker room,” Rhodes said. “If there was a real problem, probably going to go to Randy or Seth.”

A Respected Locker Room Leader

“The American Nightmare” used an anecdote about his nephew to illustrate his point, explaining that he tells him to “go say hi to Randy, that’s number one,” the same way a young talent would have been told to go and meet The Undertaker years ago as a sign of respect.

Orton’s role as a respected veteran was on full display this past weekend at SummerSlam, where he teamed with Jelly Roll in a major celebrity tag team match. Although they were unsuccessful against the team of Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, Orton’s presence helped elevate the match to one of the most talked-about of the weekend. The fallout from that match is expected to continue on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
