Cody Rhodes Spotted In Australia To Begin Filming ‘Street Fighter’ Movie

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has been spotted in Australia, confirming that he is on location to begin filming his role in the upcoming live-action “Street Fighter” movie.

Cody Rhodes Arrives In Australia

Photos of Rhodes arriving in Sydney, Australia, were shared on social media. The image of the champion show him wearing sunglasses and sporting his American Nightmare gear.

This follows a recent teaser image posted by Andrew Schulz, which showed a shadowy figure with Rhodes’s entrance music and the caption “A NEW WARRIOR HAS ENTERED…,” a clear reference to the “Street Fighter” franchise.

Cody Rhodes’s WWE Absence

Rhodes will be absent from upcoming WWE television shows while he films his role as Guile in the video game-based movie. Previous reports have stated that his on-set commitment is not expected to be as long as his co-star, Roman Reigns, who is scheduled to begin filming on September 2 and wrap during the week of September 26.

Kitao Sakurai is directing the 2026 live-action movie. In addition to Rhodes and Reigns, the cast also includes NJPW’s Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Noah Centineo as Ken, and Andrew Koji as Ryu. The character of Guile was famously portrayed by Jean-Claude Van Damme in the original 1994 film.

Rhodes is coming off a win for the Undisputed WWE Championship over John Cena in a Street Fight at the SummerSlam premium live event. He has since entered into a new feud with Drew McIntyre on Friday Night SmackDown.
