Cody Rhodes talks WWE NXT using The Great American Bash name

For the second straight year, WWE is using The Great American Bash name as a special episode of NXT TV on the USA Network.

Dusty Rhodes created the event in 1985 with the first show being held on July 6th from the American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dusty’s son, Cody Rhodes, commented on WWE using the name of an event created by his father. He wrote the following:

“Business is business. They have the rights to many of Dusty’s greatest creations. My hope is that they do them justice and I will never be bitter about his legacy being honored and a whole new generation seeing he was a genius w/lasting concepts.”

Tonight’s Great American Bash will feature Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly, Cameron Grimes vs. LA Knight in a Million Dollar Title Match, Io Shirai & Zoey Stark vs. Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae for the Women’s Tag Team Titles, and more. Check out the betting odds for the show here.
