WWE star Cody Rhodes has weighed in on the building anticipation for WrestleMania 42, predicting that the event will emerge as a “sleeper” hit despite current fan impatience regarding the unannounced card.
Speaking with Mostly Sports, Rhodes addressed the unpredictable nature of this year’s “Road to WrestleMania” and the creative direction under Triple H.
“Enjoy the season. It’s unpredictable this year,” Rhodes said. “I know there’s a little bit of impatience in general, what are the matches — it’s a Road To WrestleMania and I think what Triple H will….I think there’s a sleeper WrestleMania emerging if that makes any sense. Sometimes the tenures are very obvious, sometimes the big staple pieces like John Cena’s final [Mania match]. I think we’re sitting on a sleeper mania here.”
The Road to Las Vegas
WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event, also being promoted as “WrestleMania Vegas,” marks the third time the event has eminated from the Las Vegas area.
As of February 27, 2026, only two matches have been officially confirmed by WWE:
- World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
- Women’s World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan
