Cody Rhodes can now say that he is a Royal Rumble winner as he outlasted 29 other WWE stars in this year’s 30-Man Royal Rumble match, earning a championship match at WrestleMania 40 in April.
Jey Uso and Jimmy Uo start things off before Grayon Waller walked out at #3 while cutting a promo on his way out to the ring. After getting superkicked on the apron, Waller hit the flatliner to Jey. Andrade came out at #4 followed by Carmelo Hayes and then Shinsuke Nakamura.

Santos Escobar entered at #7 and tried to start an alliance with Andrade before turning on him. Karrion Kross was out next where he teamed with Jimmy to double team Jey. Dominik Mysterio got booed out of the building when he walked out. Carlito at #10 and Bobby Lashley at #11. Kross and Lashley were eliminated. AOP came out to attack Lashley only for the Street Profits to make the save. Ludwig Kaiser was out at #12 and then Austin Theory. Finn Balor made his entry at #14 where he eliminated Hayes. Cody Rhodes made his way next to hit Theory with a cutter and eliminated him. Bron Reed was #16 and eliminated Andrade with a backdrop. Kofi Kingston made history by entering in his 16th Rumble, two shy of Kane’s 18 record. Cody with Cross Rhodes to Nakamura for the elimination. Kofi with a spring board kick to eliminate Kaiser. GUNTHER was out at #18 and eliminated Kofi. Ivar was next out followed by NXT’s Bron Breakker. Jimmy and Balor were eliminated by Bron. Omos was #21 and eliminated Reed. Bron speared Ivar to eliminated him. Pat McAfee was #23 and then eliminated himself. Bron eliminated Omos with a clothesline. Dom eliminated Breakker. JD McDonah was out at #23. Apparently, McAfee was never an actual entrant. Bron speared JD before he got in the ring. R-Truth was #24, where he tossed JD into the ring, and Jey eliminated JD right away. Dom got the hot tag to R-Truth, who thought he was in a tag team match.

The Miz was #25 then Damian Priest, who eliminated Truth right away. CM Punk was #27 and eliminated Dom. Ricochet was #28. GUNTHER eliminated Miz with a chop. Drew McIntyre was #29.

GUNTHER eliminated Jey. Sami Zayn was #30. Drew tossed Ricochet out of the ring. Zayn clotheslined Priest out of the ring and then Drew tossed out Zayn. Final four – Rhodes, Punk, GUNTHER, and McIntyre. Punk eliminated Drew. Cody eliminated GUNTHER and we’re down to two. Punk and Cody went back and forth for a while. Punk with a pedigree. Cody blocked the GTS and dumped out Punk.
