Cody Rhodes posted a teaser for “The Last Cowboy” on his twitter account. Basically, he is working on a book on his father, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. The recent talks with WWE were in regards to allowing him the rights to publish the book. I don’t know the details surrounding his exit from WWE but it looks like WWE still has rights to use the Rhodes name for merchandising (they own the trademark for Cody Rhodes name) but they are allowing him to write the book. The merchandise on Pro Wrestling Tees is being printed with just Cody’s first name so it looks like Cody and WWE would have to work out a deal for rights to the “Cody Rhodes” name on merch.
