Conflicting reports about Luke Harper’s WWE status

There are conflicting reports going around about Luke Harper.

PWInsider reported earlier this week that Harper was back on the road with WWE, which usually means that he’s about to return to TV.

However, as noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the key people in the company were not aware about Harper being brought back on the road. Those close to Harper have also said that they haven’t heard a thing about him going back on the road and he hasn’t been told anything since the decision was made in April not to use him when Vince McMahon soured on him because he didn’t like his match with Dominic Dijakovic at the When Worlds Collide show that was taped during WrestleMania weekend.

Harper hasn’t appeared on television since SummerSlam 2018 when his partner Erick Rowan suffered a torn right bicep. Since his partner was injured, Harper decided to undergo surgery to fix a wrist injury. He was cleared earlier this year but was not used and then requested his release in April but it was denied.

Harper’s current WWE deal was set to expire in November but the company is adding six months due to the time he took off for his wrist injury.

If Harper leaves WWE in the Spring of 2020, many expect that AEW would want to sign him since he is friends with people who work there.
