As noted last week, Rusev hasn’t been appearing much on shows lately because he asked for time off. It’s unclear when he will return to action.
Meltzer also noted that his contract is set to expire relatively soon and there’s no word on if he plans to sign a new deal or explore his options elsewhere.
Rusev has made some not-so-cryptic remarks on social media that would lead people to believe that he is not too happy with his spot in the company so it should not surprise anyone if he decides to see if other companies would be interested in negotiating with him. He hasn’t appeared on WWE TV much this year and the last time fans saw him was as one of the competitors in the 50-man battle royal at Super ShowDown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
