WWE NXT star Candice LeRae’s contract is slated to expire soon and with her being away due to her pregnancy, there has been speculation regarding whether WWE will add time to her deal to make up for the time she took off.
WWE typically freezes talent contracts when wrestlers take an extended amount of time off. However, that’s not the case right now with LeRae. Dave Meltzer previously reported her deal was up in May 2022.
Fightful Select confirmed that LeRae’s deal is slated to expire this spring and thus far has not been renewed or frozen. Sources they spoke with weren’t sure if a freeze was able to even happen considering that LeRae has been out on maternity leave. They’ve also heard that those in WWE did not expect her to be back by the time the deal expired, but an extension hasn’t been talked about either. WWE had not planned to talk with LeRae about extension talks while recovering from giving birth.
LeRae and Johnny Gargano had their first child last month. Johnny departed from WWE in December when his contract expired and the belief is he’s headed to AEW when he’s ready to wrestle again.
The report did state the married couple appears to be on good terms with WWE and the company would like to have them back.
