A bombshell report came out this week regarding plans for the return of Alexa Bliss being off the table.
The report came from PWInsider, which noted that there were initial plans for Bliss to return several weeks ago on Raw in San Jose. A storyline involving The Wyatt Sicks had been pitched as part of that return.
Creative was told to drop all plans for Bliss. The faction was moved to SmackDown but has yet to appear on SmackDown. The future creative plans for them going forward will now be “independent of anything related to Bliss.”
The creative plans were not the issue for plans being nixed, and Bliss was ready to return, but for now, WWE has halted her return as Bliss is not featured in any creative pitches for the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
She is under an older deal before she took time off to have her first child. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted the contract talks halted plans for her return.
Meltzer said, “So the deal with Alexa Bliss is she was supposed to be on the show in San Jose, and there’s a contract. They have not come to terms on a contract, but she was going to debut. The thing is, she was going to debut against the Wyatt Sicks, but the Wyatt Sicks have been moved to SmackDown, so it kind of made no sense for her to be on Raw but anyway, right now, she was expected to come back, and they’re just working out a contract deal. That’s where everything stands right.”
